Hand harvested, fresh spilanthes, clove bud and fennel seed extracted in organic cane alcohol come together to create an invigorating, powerful herbal mouthwash experience. Yes, I'm referring to mouthwash as an experience. If you've ever eaten a spilanthes flower bud then you'll know all about the electric, tingling oral sensation.
Also known as the electric daisy or buzz button, spilanthes flower buds have mild pain relieving and numbing effects. Studies have found that the bioactive compound, spilanthol, can exert a variety of biological and pharmacological effects including analgesic, neuroprotective , antioxidant, antimutagenic, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antilarvicidal and insecticidal activities.
Clove bud has long been used for oral health. Eugenol, the main compound in cloves, is responsible for their powerful analgesic (pain-relieving) and antiseptic properties. It has also been shown that this compound has protective teeth-remineralizing properties that help to fight acids that erode tooth enamel. As well as eugenol, clove oil is also very high in manganese, a mineral that's important for bone health.
Fennel is full of polyphenols (micronutrients) that are known to be beneficial to whole mouth care. Fennel seeds and the oil extract from them is a healthy mixture of anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. It also lends a mildly sweet flavor to the overall taste of the tincture.
How to use: reach for this tincture for daily oral care or when you notice mouth sores or dental pain of any kind. Dilute one dropperful in 1oz of water, swish or gargle and spit. You will notice a mild tingling sensation in the mouth that will last for a couple minutes (thanks to the fresh spilanthes!)
